Hotel Minareto was born on a promontory that draws from the lyric of its naturalistic beauties and from the charismatic power of history the pride of standing in front of the island of Ortigia, a masterpiece of art and history, a UNESCO heritage site. It is said that it is precisely on this hill, surrounded by the sea, and dominated by the imposing Red Lighthouse, that Archimedes placed the burning mirrors to burn the Roman fleet, and thus defend Syracuse from the siege of the consul Marco Claudio Marcello.
