The historic Schloss Prielau (Prielau Castle) is located on the northern shore of Lake Zell, surrounded by a park and only 200 metres away from the lake. First mentioned in 1425, Prielau Castle was turned into a luxury hotel in the late 1980s. Behind the castle there are ponds for fish farming and a pen for raising deer. The spire of a beautiful baroque chapel rises above the towers of the castle at a discreet distance. In addition to 2 gourmet restaurants, Hotel Schloss Prielau lets you enjoy a spa area with sauna, steam bath and massages in the castle?s ?bath house?. There is a private beach on the lake, complete with wooden pier, beach house and comfortable deck chairs. The ski areas of the Europa Sports Region can be reached in only a few minutes.

The rooms are furnished in a traditional country-house style. Lively colours and international luxury are harmoniously combined with the tradition of the castle and the valuable antiques. The Restaurant Mayer's at Schloss Prielau is one of Austria's top ten restaurants and was awarded 2 stars by Guide Michelin and many other honours. Chef Andreas Meyer's style is inspired by traditional French cuisine, using strong aromas and creating new versions of traditional dishes. There is an excellent wine list with more than 400 wines.
